Happy Birthday America

My favorite subject in school has always been history, i love study about events in the past that have helped to change our world. Here are some intresting facts about the 4th of July. On July 4, 1776, we claimed our independence from Britain and Democracy was born. Every day thousands leave their homeland to come to the "land of the free and the home of the brave" so they can begin their American Dream. The United States is truly a diverse nation made up of dynamic people. Each year on July 4, Americans celebrate that freedom and independence with barbecues, picnics, and family gatherings. Congress established Independence Day as a holiday in 1870, and in 1938 Congress reaffirmed it as a holiday. Patrick Henry once said, "Our country was founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ." Of the 55 men who formed the Constitution, 52 were active members of their church. Thomas Jefferson called the bible the cornerstone for American Liberty. So this 4th of July lets not forget those who fought and are fighting to give us our freedom, and lets not forget that our country was founded on the gospel of Jesus Christ. "ONE NATION UNDER GOD" HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA.
